๐Overview
This condition occurs when abnormal electrical signals in the ventricles cause the heart to beat faster than normal, which may prevent the chambers from filling adequately with blood. Consequently, the heart may be unable to pump enough oxygenated blood to the rest of the body during an episode.
While often associated with structural heart disease or scarring from previous cardiac events, this arrhythmia can also occur in individuals without a history of heart issues. The episodes are typically classified based on their duration and the impact they have on cardiovascular function.
