Mammary Paget's Disease
๐Overview
Mammary Paget's Disease is often characterized as a manifestation of an underlying breast malignancy, such as ductal carcinoma in situ or invasive breast cancer. The condition involves the presence of malignant cells within the epidermis of the nipple complex, which may indicate the progression of cancer from the breast ducts to the skin surface.
This rare condition is frequently associated with deeper tumors located within the breast tissue, even when the primary clinical observations are limited to the nipple area. It is medically recognized as a distinct presentation of breast cancer that requires clinical evaluation to identify any concurrent internal carcinomas.
